Why Buy This Vehicle:
Car designed in early 1981 by Bob Marcks, Chief of Special Vehicle Projects at Chrysler. First one (in Mica Red) was shown at the NAIAS in Detroit in January, 1982. It met with some success on the show circuit and was put into limited production for 1983, as the Executive Sedan [and the Executive Limousine -- 7 inches longer wheelbase, dual jump seats, and division window]. The cars were fully equipped at nearly $19,000; no demos: you paid for it and delivery was in 2-3 months! A LeBaron four-door sedan was cut 1 behind the B pillar with the rear portion discarded, and a LeBaron coupe/sedan was cut 9 inches behind the A pillar for the Sedan or 2 inches for the Limousine, and the front discarded. With two steel support bars in the floor pan, the two cars were welded together to make one car - by ASC in St. Louis. Wheelbase went from 100 to either 124 or 131. The only options were Cassette and Wheels (Road or Wires), later, leather interior. All power equipment was standard! Production: 1983-84 was 205 Sedans; 1983-86 was 1498 Limousines. [Of 1703 cars built, fewer than 100 known to exist in 2005, in any condition, around the world.] Old Cars Weekly (4 Jan 07) proclaimed the Executives to be among the few 1980s collector cars.
